Getting started

Comics workspace

Catalog comic books from a photo: issue, printing, newsstand or direct, variants, keys and CGC grade.

A Comics workspace gives you comic fields and an AI that knows comics, from Golden Age to Modern.

Add a comic

  1. Tap + Add item and photograph the cover. Add a photo of the indicia too: the small print on the first inside page with the publisher, title, issue and date. For a slab, include the label.

  2. Tap Fill with AI (1 credit). Kilito fills the publisher, series, issue number, year, variant or printing, edition and cover artist, and notes key issues it is sure about.

  3. Check the fields, add your cost and ask, and save.

What the AI knows

  • Newsstand or direct: a barcode box with a price means newsstand; character art or a logo in that spot means direct edition.

  • Variants and printings: price variants (35 cent, Canadian), ratio and virgin variants, foil covers and 2nd or 3rd printings, which are worth much less than a 1st print of a key.

  • Reprints: facsimile editions, Marvel Milestones and similar reprints are flagged so you don't list them as originals.

  • Keys: first appearances, origins and iconic covers, only when the AI is certain.

  • Slabs: the CGC and CBCS 10-point scale, label colors (Universal, Signature Series, Restored, Qualified) and page quality, copied from the label.

Raw books

Kilito never guesses a number grade on a raw comic. It describes the spine, corners, staples and gloss, gives a value range, and adds a Grading tip when grading a key is likely worth it.

Prices

Tap Check eBay sold to open sold listings for that issue, then + Add a comp for the ones that match. No credits used.

Selling

eBay drafts fill the Comics & Graphic Novels category and its item specifics: publisher, series title, issue number, publication year, era, signed, grader and grade.
