Getting started

Taking great photos

Use the built-in camera guides, size presets and cropping tools for clean, consistent photos.

Use the built-in camera

Tap Camera on the item page (on a phone, Add photos opens your phone's camera directly). You'll see a live preview with a framing guide:

  • ◯ Coin for round coins

  • ▭ Note for banknotes

  • ▢ Free for anything else, like slabs or sets

Drag the guide to move it, and drag the corners (or use your mouse wheel) to resize it. Crop to guide is on by default so every photo comes out framed the same way.

Size presets

Under the preview, tap a size like Dime, Cent, Nickel, Quarter, Half, Dollar or Slab. After you adjust the guide once, Kilito remembers the scale for that camera.

Editing photos

Open any photo to:

  • ◯ Circle crop a coin

  • ⌖ Auto-crop to trim the background

  • Set the MAIN photo, which shows on cards, labels and Show Window

The first photo is the main one. Drag or use the arrows to reorder.

Tips for better results

  • Soft, even light. Tilt slabs slightly to kill glare.

  • A plain dark or light background.

  • Fill the frame. AI reads dates, mint marks and labels better from close, sharp photos.
